New Production Company Holding Auditions
From the creator of Mina’s Story comes Twilight Over Midgard, a new queer audio drama about stopping the apocalypse
Dec. 16th, 2020 (SEATTLE, WA) — Cassie Josephs (Mina’s Story) and audio drama newcomer Nick Webster are thrilled to announce the formation of their podcast production company, Starlight Audio Productions, and auditions for their debut audio drama: Twilight Over Midgard.
Twilight Over Midgard is a modern fantasy audio drama about a group of friends in Seattle who are recruited by two Norse gods to stop the apocalypse. Pulled from their lives as violinists, queer news writers, and grad students, they find themselves going on adventures they never could have dreamed of, traveling to strange realms, meeting gods—and trying desperately to survive long enough to ensure that the world doesn’t end.
The show is created by a queer production team with a cast composed entirely of queer characters. Helmed by pagan creators, the show features characters inspired by Norse Mythology—gods, valkyries, dwarves, and eight-legged horses—written from the perspective of people who incorporate those figures into their real religious practice. It deals with themes of found family, trauma, grief, and the complicated side of forgiveness: what do you do when someone you love hurts you more than you ever could have imagined? How do you forgive them? Do you forgive them at all?
Auditions open on Jan. 1st 2021. The show will be casting twenty roles for a ten-episode first season. More information will be published on their website (starlightaudio.com/tomaudition) and linked on their Twitter (@StarlightAudio) on Jan. 1st at approximately 12:00pm Pacific Time (UTC -8).
